Hurlburt trains against chemical weapons

Air Force personnel at Hurlburt Field conducted training Thursday based on a simulated chemical weapons attack against a base outside the U.S. Staff Sergeant David Norris said the training is for airmen and civilians that may be deployed to international locations where chemical weapons could be used against them. He said when being deployed, those on the ground need to know how to react. The protective gear used during the training is the same that will be issued at deployment. Norris said the training is conducted on a weekly basis with 3,500 to 4,000 people completing it annually.
