Milton man fires shots at trailer

Terry CollieA Milton man was arrested Sunday for firing shots while under the influence of alcohol after he got into a confrontation with a woman and her boyfriend, according to a Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office arrest report. No one was reportedly injured.

Terry Collie, 51, was pulled over traveling on SA Jones Road in Milton after he had fled from a mobile home located at Santa Gertrudas Drive, where he had fired shots. He was uncooperative with officers and he had a rifle held against his shoulder and a shotgun in the passenger seat. Collie also had a prescription bottle in his pocket containing 30 anti-anxiety pills.

Back at the mobile home, officers spoke with a woman who said that Collie had just left from the residence after firing shots at the front door area. She said that Collie had been calling her boyfriend earlier in the evening. The woman’s boyfriend told him to stop calling but at around 10 p.m. that night, Collie showed up at her residence and asked to speak with him. She opened the front door and told Collie that her boyfriend was in the shower and that it would be about 10 minutes, at which point Collie began getting impatient.The woman asked Collie to leave, and he told her that he would go get his gun and blow through the door. Moments later, the woman told officers that she heard one shot fired through the front door area, and another shot a few seconds later.Officers observed indentions on the door and a second shot through the glass window of the door of the mobile home.

Collie told officers that he had fired shots to try and let the woman know how serious he was about his problem.Collie was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, firing a weapon from within a vehicle, firing a weapon into an occupied dwelling and knowingly driving while license suspended.
