Gulf Pointe Latin School students shred waves during extracurricular activity

Navarre and the rest of the Emerald Coast may not have swells like the Mavericks off California or Hawaii’s pipeline waves, but it does have a rich history of surfing with famous surfers like Yancy Spencer III having shred Gulf Coast waves.

Hurlburt says Hwy 98 traffic is national security worry

Officials at Hurlburt Field’s 1 SOW are concerned about a mission delay for crisis response because of the heavy traffic on Hwy. 98.

Col. Wood from Hurlburt addressed the board of the Florida-Alabama Transportation Planning Organization saying, “We are part of the problem, and we want to be part of the solution (to traffic problems on Hwy 98).”

How does the county use the gas tax?

When the Santa Rosa County Board of Commissioners doubled the gas tax in 2015, the total gas tax became 12 cents per gallon. But how is the use determined? What can it be spent on?

It was an unordinary day at Holley-Navarre Middle School when a teacher walked into the library wearing a military uniform, April 3, 2024. Surrounded by students, family and friends, he would be presented the Distinguished Flying Cross for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight two years ago — back when he was an evaluator flight engineer at Hurlburt Field, Florida.

More than 200 dogs and even more humans gathered at Pik-itz on April 13 for a day full of peace, love, music, and pups at the Navarre Chamber’s Inaugural WOOFSTOCK 2024. The costume contest was competitive, with golden doodles dressed as hippies, bulldogs in wigs, Terriers in overalls, and golden retrievers with scrunchies on their paws.

Navarre Homeschool Prom draws largest crowd in three years

Homeschool teenagers from all over Santa Rosa County gathered in the gymnasium of Gulf Pointe Latin School on East Bay Blvd. for the Navarre Homeschool Prom April 6. This event is put together by Santa Rosa County parents from Navarre to Milton every year.
